I didn't bother posting my new year's resolution to get into better shape because it's so cliché. (That, and my 2012 progress was precisely zero.) But six months later, I'm actually doing rather well: I lost over 21 pounds, from 257.0 to 235.4. At this rate, it'll take a total of almost two years to drop the overall 72 pounds, rather than my original 14 month goal, but I'm ok with that. I'd rather work on a sustainable pace than get frustrated and give up. My approach:
1. Record weight daily and highlight changes monthly. 2. Six half-hour sessions of aerobic exercise per week. 3. Constantly drink flavored water to feel full. 4. Portion control, rather than avoid sweets altogether.
