Sometimes corporations can surprise you

I fully expected the answer to my question below to be "no", but I figured it really couldn't hurt to ask. I've been using Sony Vegas Movie Studio for about seven years, and had purchased what was an old version when I started, so now the ten-year-old version is ancient. It's still working just fine for me, but certain file formats cause issues, and there are maximum video dimensions which preclude working with HD, so it became time to start exploring an upgrade. I had noticed that the Platinum "upgrade" option was the same $50 as buying the standard version outright....
